Tao Xiuqi, a specially-honored Chinese teacher and senior secondary school teacher, who pursued the undergraduate degree at the Central China Normal University and the master’s degree of education in the major of “Curriculum and Teaching Methodology”at Hubei Univeristy, is also an executive director of Chinese Education Society’s School Culture Branch. From September 1999 to July 2012, she taught Chinese in Huanggang Middle School, served successively as headteacher and grade head, and also held the post of deputy director of Student Affairs Office of Huanggang Middle School as well as director of Student Affairs Office of Qihuang Middle School. On November 13th 2012, she took office as Principal and Secretary of Huanggang Dongpo Primary School (the original Huanggang Second Experimental Primary School); on August 29th 2015, she assumed the post of Principal of Huanggang Experimental Primary School. Devoting herself to teaching and research, she undertakes four research projects including two national ones, among which Plan Research of School Culture Characteristics concluded successfully and won the national-level first prize and Strategy Research of Formative Education for Primary and Secondary Students is now actively practicing innovative teaching methods and attempting to create efficient classes. She is preparing to conclude the projects, actively bringing forth new ideas of the teaching mode and trying hard to create effective classes and in the teaching practices she has formed her own unique teaching style, finally contributing to the improvement of the teaching quality, being recognized by her fellow colleagues and obtaining superior reputation on the Chinese subject between the schools in the same level of Hubei province. She is a headmaster who is innovative and pursues for excellence. During the three years of her tenure, she has transformed an unknown primary school, Dongpo in Huanggang, into a nationally known one with high quality and characteristics. In October 2013, CETV-1 reported HGEPS’s experience and approach that “passing on the Dongpo culture and constructing a characteristically remarkable elementary school”. In 2014, Dongpo elementary school in Huanggang was crowned as “the demonstration base of school for the teaching and studying of the excellent traditional culture for junior and senior high and primary school nationally”, and was the only primary school of the whole province that awarded the laurel. From then on, the education in Huanggang has occupied an important position in the distinctive education of national culture.
